About the conversation:

No Business is an Island

Civic Leadership – what does it mean for you.

As a business leader, alongside running your business, you have a responsibility to the communities where your business is located and your employees live. Investing energy in helping those communities will make sense for you commercially too.

Allowing your colleagues to spend some of their work time volunteering helps to develop them and therefore brings value back into your business.  It also helps your community. Sadly, most business owners don’t put in place the opportunity for the business to take full advantage of this learning and development.

Many talented young people today want to work for a business that is about so much more than just about making money.  So, supporting your community will benefit your recruitment and improve your brand reputation to attract the best talent.

You'll discover that working with volunteers will give you powerful insights that will improve your business.  Post pandemic organisations are going to be working very differently and those insights gained from working within your community will help your business to stand out and succeed.

You can't afford not to do it!
