About the conversation:

Robotic Process Automation of Repetitive Office Work by Software Robots

You may have never heard of Robotic ProcessAutomation (RPA).  But I guarantee it could help you and your Milton Keynes small business.

Software Robotics is already here and is growing as an increasingly vital tool for businesses like yours.

Most experts in this specialist area agree that software robotics will be increasingly important in every organisation that employs people to do repetitive IT tasks. Adopting Robotic Process Automation(RPA) will change the way your team works for the better.

David Martin will explain the key impact softwarerobotics will have on businesses like yours and how it will improve your performance in the future. David will also give you the ‘Heads Up’ on how it will give your businesses a competitive edge by delivering greater productivity, accuracy and quality improvements.

What are the real Benefits of RPA? A typical response focuses on cost savings but actually there are other great benefits which are potentially far more important to your success.

RPA is most cost effective for repetitive processes that have predictable interactions with IT applications. They’re too small or low value to cover the investment of new IT applications. RPA tools can greatly improve the efficiency of these processes without you needing to change your current IT systems.

RPA software is often called a "Robot". These software Robots do exactly the same job as a your staff by interacting with your existing IT applications following simple rules to make consistently accurate decisions.

Unlike a your staff, Software Robots do not get tired or slow down.  They don’t have lapses in concentration and therefore don’t make errors. They don't need any sleep so they can work 24 hours a day.  They also don’t have any holidays or pull a sickie so they can operate 365 days a year. When you don’t need them anymore because the task is fully completed you won’t need an employment lawyer :-)

RPA Robots always complete their task consistently which increases the quality of your outcome.  Human error is completely eliminated.

RPA Robots work at the speed of your computers. This is between 10 to 20 faster than your staff using the same software applications.

RPA Robots treat everybody confidentially so details on "VIPs" or "Sensitive information" is not leaked through casual conversations. The confidentiality of RPA Robots is particularly beneficial when staff leave. It removes the risk of your valuable information going with your staff to a competitor.

RPA Robots will create a complete log of every action they take which can be used to monitor activity levels in real time. Asking your staff to do this consistently won’t happen and would also increase the time taken to perform the work significantly.

The following types of tasks are good for automation

Repetitive - e.g. More than 10 times a day Prone to error  Rules based - predictable outcome for a given input Involve digital data Time critical Suffers from seasonal peaks

Entire end-to-end processes can be performed by Software Robots with very little human interaction, typically people manage the exceptions.
