'10 Minute Tip' by Kelly Israel - Volunteer Management Expert - From 7.15am until 9.30am
Kelly graduated from City University, London. She honed her voluntary sector skills by running the RAG for 3 years & found her passion for the Third Sector
After graduation she joined Remploy getting recipients of disability benefits back into work & improving her knowledge of the Public Sector. After a short stint at CAFCASS she joined University of Northampton as a Volunteering Coordinator, recruiting, training, placing & supporting students and staff volunteers with community organisations. She developed a network of over 250 community organisations to place students & staff volunteers & increased volunteering hours, which have a measurable economic impact to the society, from just under 10,000 per academic year to over 500,000. Her team won “Student Volunteering Team of the Year”.
She kept her hands dirty during her extended maternity leave by leading many community events in Yardley Gobion. Notably “A Very Royal Street Party” to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. The project saw the village come together to organise & deliver the event. She oversaw the traffic management plans, road closures, 40ft marquees on the High Street & afternoon tea for 450 people!
She also lead on the Festival of Scarecrows in Yardley Gobion volunteering with Girl Guides & the village Preschool.
Kelly joined MK Springers Gymnastics Club where her t2 daughters go in 2017 as Project Manager, to deliver on the Club’s vision to build a brand new facility within the Western Expansion Area of MK. The role has included developing a business plan for the new facility project, marketing, volunteer management, events management, networking & some creative problem solving.

Kelly has been a Voluntary & Community Sector specialist for 18 years. Previously an employee of The University of Northampton, she is knowledgeable & experienced in fostering long lasting relationships between the voluntary, community, business & education sectors. She has successfully engaged 10 student volunteers & an intern from The University of Northampton at MK Springers. They have made a significant difference to the business.
