Business Networking Meeting - Resilient Leadership Toolkit

'10 Minute Tip' by Anna Hemmings MBE OLY - Resilient Leadership Toolkit - 8am to 10am

Anna Hemmings MBE OLY was so Brilliant when she did her first tip on January 15th this year that I instantly asked her to come back and do another one.

Luckily, being a very clever lady she'd only had time to show us 2 of the 4 elements in her Resilient Leaders Toolkit so this week she'll be sharing the other 2.

Anna will reveal 2 more tips to help you bring your best leadership self to these challenging and uncertain times. You’ll learn how to be a more effective leader under pressure using the 2 more of the 4 elements that resilient leaders need to have real impact.

About the conversation:

Build your own Resilient Leaders Toolkit

Anna Hemmings MBE OLY returns by very popular demand to share 2 more elements of her 4 top tips on how you can become a resilient leader

Anna Hemmings is a very canny lady.  In her brilliant 10 Minute Tip in January she made best use of the time by only covering 2 parts of her 4 part Resilient Leaders Toolkit.  It was so successful for us both that she's agreed to come back this Friday and do the other 2 parts.  Thanks Anna

1. Clarity of Direction:

Having a vision and a realistic strategy for the future.  Communicating effectively to align people to your vision.  Having the determination to keep going in the face of adversity. This ensures that people know where you're leading them to and why they really want to go there with you.  This is highly motivational, particularly in the face of adversity.

2. Leadership Presence:

You have real “presence” even when you’re not in the room.  People have a very clear idea of what you would say.  They know exactly what actions and decisions you would want them to make even when you are not there.  This is absolutely crucial when teams are operating in the virtual world.

You have real presence as a leader when you are absolutely clear about your values.  This is  best demonstrated in times of genuine crisis. Are you always clear and consistent about your values?  Do you live your values and allow them to guide your actions and inform your decisions?

3. Awareness:

This won't be covered this time.

Develop an awareness of yourself and other’s .  Their strengths, areas of development and motives. Get an understanding of what takes you and your team from pressure to stress and how to rebalance.

By developing this awareness, everyone, including you, works at their best, resulting in higher productivity and motivation through challenging times.

4. Resilient Decision Making:

This won't be covered this time

Developing the skills for resilient decision making means you'll make the right decisions, at the right time, with the right people in the right place.

The decision making skills you have learnt will be creative, robust and versatile.  You'll also have the best chance of making great decisions under extreme pressure.
