Milton Keynes Top Business Writer

'10 Minute Tip' by Steve Jordan

Among other things, many other things, Steve Jordan is a writer.  For 25 years he has written stories, magazines, letters, speeches, websites and blogs for those who will happily pay him to do so. He is managing director of The Words Workshop in Milton Keynes, a copywriting company that works internationally in a crusade to bring correct English and inspirational writing to a reluctant world.

Come to the Business Growth Club on 25th November to hear him deliver a 10-minute tip that will change the way you think about the English language, forever.

About the conversation:

“What does the odd typo matter – really?”

“Prospective customers or clients aren’t fussed about perfect grammar any more.”

“My spelling has never been much good, but I’m good at my business – and that’s all people want to know.”

“On a website, you need to make it very clear how much pride you take in your experience and your business’s achievements, before saying anything else.”

“The best thing to include in a newsletter is at least one long quote from your company’s CEO.”

“Blog posts are the perfect place for some long-form hard selling with a few tips thrown in.”

It is always there – lurking.  You can see it, you can touch it, you can control it, but you don’t – you know you don’t - and you are powerless to resist its viciousness.

It can be your friend, or it can kill you with just one silent blow from its malevolent fist: Your business will die and you will never know why.

How do you tame this beast?  How can you protect yourself from its destructive omnipotence? You can’t – but some can. They live in our society, all around us, you just need to know who they are.
